Identification

How a risk assessment is performed is a factor, which can affect the quality of a project. Aberdeen Drilling Consultants vast experience in risk assessment points towards third party facilitation, in conjunction with participation of the ‘correct personnel’ as the most successful option for identifying risk.

By bringing together the appropriate mix of personnel, contractors and independent experts, the project can be assessed from all standpoints. Third party facilitation provides an impartial view and someone who, with the correct experience, can guide or drive the risk assessment to conclusion (it is important not to get bogged down with working the issues, rather that they are left to be worked offline by more specific groups).

With correct facilitation, the process on the previous page provides a methodology for a very thorough risk assessment. If a large project has been undertaken, this can mean a large quantity of risks being identified. It is, therefore, very important that each risk be identified and referenced correctly. The first three screens of risk-elimin8 provide a structure for identification of each project and each risk within that project.
